The oldest Royal family in the world (2) 2016/04/02

Yamato Takeruno Mikoto may be the greatest hero through the all history of Royal family.

He was the son of Keiko Emperor (71-130) but did not make himself an Emperor. By the order of Emperor, he visited many areas of Japan and conquered wide and various districts from Kyushu (southern Japan) to northeast Japan.

Therefore there are many legends of Yamato Takeruno Mikoto left at many places all over Japan and he was a one of the most popular hero in Royal family.

He was not only a brave and smart worrier but also a great poet. Both “Kojiki” and “Nippon Shoki” reported in detail about his travel of conquer together with beautiful and romantic his poets. He loved deeply his home town Yamato and Japan. He died on the way back to Yamato after fights of conquer. His last poet which long for Yamato from the bottom of his heart moved many old and modern Japanese.

There is unfortunately no concrete evidence to certify the presence of Yamato Takeruno Mikoto, nevertheless he is the greatest hero of Japanese history and remains at the bottom of Japanese soul.

According to the record of the Royal family, the current Emperor is 125th Emperor. However there is a big question if the pedigree of Royal family has been continuing from the first Emperor to the current Emperor without any break

Yuryaku Emperor who is 21st Emperor at the throne 457-479, was brave and conquered many contraries and districts. He also made romances with many princesses in various districts which may have indicated he made compositions with powers of such districts.

The poem which is considered to be made by Yuryaku was placed at the top of “Manyoshu”, oldest anthology. At the same time “Nippon Ryoiki” which was written in early 9th century with strong influence to the then society had the story of Yuryaku at the top of the book.

He was a popular Emperor and also a great hero who made the strong basement of central Yamato dynasty, however he was also considered as a crucial tyrant since he killed many relatives who could have been his rival for the throne.

After 25th Emperor Buretsu died away in 507, there was no adequate candidate for Emperor left among the family, they searched a distant relatives and found one young man in Omi where is far from then capital Yamato.

According to the “ Nippon Shoki”, the man was a descendant of 5th generation of 15th Emperor and he become 26th Emperor, Keitai.  There are some who had a concern about the realty of “ a descendant of 5th generation” and wondered the continuity of the dynasty and also the pedigree.

However researchers could not find significant change in the style or policy of dynasty before and after Keitai and also powers and persons surrounding Royal family remained unchanged.

Therefore it is almost certain the dynasty overcome the crisis of a break by finding “ a descendant of 5th generation”  and continued successfully.
